Jill Nystul started her blog, One Good Thing by Jillee, as a means to take steps forward after emerging from rehabilitation from alcohol dependence and battling a slew of equally tough issues that tested her confidence as a wife and mother. Her goal was to pursue her passion and help others along the way - one day at a time and one step at a time - by writing about one good thing each day. It is clear that Nystul's ability to appreciate the little things has resonated with readers everywhere. Fans have fallen in love with her crafty household endeavors, delicious recipes, and words of wisdom. One Good Life presents '75 Good Things by Jillee,' fifty of which have never before been published, intertwined with Nystul's personal story, revealed here for the first time. Drawing from her own experiences, Nystul shows how she has overcome tremendous hardship to finally re-embrace her faith and appreciate, each day, one good thing. 'Wow - what a special, amazing book! One Good Life is filled to the brim with the useful and unique tips, recipes, and advice that Jill's faithful readers have come to love and adore. But it's her hard-fought journey to sobriety that will capture readers' hearts. It will be impossible for this beautiful - and very moving - book not to inspire everyone who reads it.' Ree Drummond, #1 New York Times Bestselling author of The Pioneer Woman Cooks 'Jill Nystul has been through more than her fair share of hardship and has come out on the other side not just okay but as a beacon of inspiration and success. Her hard-scrabble story, told with cheer and levity, is a delightful testament to the power of positivity and taking charge of one's own life. Also, how great to have all of her famous household tips, blogger business secrets, and recipes woven into the book, too - her blog advice is spot-on. Anyone looking to improve their outlook on life (or just their life, in general) will benefit from this wonderful book . . . so basically everybody.' Nearly every choice we make and action we take, from adolescence to death, is driven by a single, all-consuming quest: to live a good life. Problem is, there's no clear, practical road map to get there. No single collection of proven strategies that don't require you to buy into a particular doctrine, dogma, faith, or belief in order for you to get the proverbial keys to the good-life castle. At the same time, a mountain of misinformation distracts and deludes millions into actions and paths destined to fail, then lays blame when the “absolute truths” offered yield nothing more than absolute misery. How to Live a Good Life is your antidote: a practical and provocative modern-day manual for the pursuit of an extraordinary life. No need for blind faith or surrender of intelligence; everything you'll discover is immediately actionable and subject to validation through your own experience. You will discover 12 elements, drawn from the intersection of science, spirituality, and the author's years-long global quest to interview and learn at the feet of masters from nearly every tradition and walk of life. You will: • Explore a side of happiness that will not only lead to more joy but also awaken you to forgiveness. • Learn how to cultivate a fierce sense of meaning and purpose in all you do. • Discover the unlikely marriage between gratitude and desire and the futility of the near delusional optimism that infects so much of today's personal-growth landscape. • Revel in the power of belonging and learn how to cultivate it. • Open to both the responsibility and the gift of freedom, and the transformative power of compassion. • Understand how to stop living a stress-addled, checked-out, punch-list life and revel in the grace and gift of present awareness. • Discover how to reclaim your sleep, movement, and nutrition, and seed a wellspring of health and vitality. Though respectful of tradition, spirituality, and faith, there will be no sacred cows. Long-held myths, often taught as truths, will nonetheless end up busted. Ideas you've held dear will be challenged, then replaced with a new set of guidelines that will, maybe for the first time, unlock a future you've sensed was always there but until now has felt perpetually just beyond reach.

“...every one who wishes to gain true knowledge must climb the Hill Difficulty alone, and since there is no royal road to the summit, I must zigzag it in my own way. I slip back many times, I fall, I stand still, I run against the edge of hidden obstacles, I lose my temper and find it again and keep it better, I trudge on, I gain a little, I feel encouraged, I get more eager and climb higher and begin to see the widening horizon. Every struggle is a victory. One more effort and I reach the luminous cloud, the blue depths of the sky, the uplands of my desire.” HELEN KELLER was born on June 27, 1880 in Tuscumbia, Alabama. At nineteen months old an acute illness nearly took her life and left her deaf and blind. At the recommendation of Alexander Graham Bell, her parents contacted the Perkins Institute for the Blind in Boston, and Anne Sullivan was sent to tutor Helen. The story of their early years together, and of Helen’s remarkable psychological and intellectual growth, is told in The Story of My Life, which first appeared in installments in Ladies’ Home Journal in 1902. With Anne Sullivan, “Teacher,” at her side, Helen Keller graduated from Radcliffe College in 1904, an extraordinary accomplishment for any woman of her time. Helen was dedicated to helping the blind and handicapped, raising funds for the American Foundation for the Blind and lobbying for commissions for the blind in thirty states. A women’s rights activist, a Swedenborgian, a socialist, and a world-famous celebrity, Helen Keller received the Presidential Medal of Freedom and many honorary degrees. Her other books include The World I Live In (1908), Midstream: My Later Life (1929), Helen Keller’s Journal (1938), and Let Us Have Faith (1940). She died in 1968. Her burial urn is in the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.

I remain a man of Eureka, California, Humboldt Hill. Whether we see life as same, or not, we may learn. The most important part of life is we are not “equal”. We must start from there. “Equality” begins with putting something “in”. I shall do the math.
